  1. Update Description verbiage in contributor console to indicate that the idea description will be public

    In the Contributor tools, the Description header says "Description (optional)". We would love to have this indicate that this field is public similar to the feedback section indication that that section is private.

  2. Show owner of feedback as who shared this on the public site

    When a contributor or any admin enters feedback for a user/customer, the idea displays on the public side as if the idea is owned by that contributor. We need for the idea to show as being owned/entered by the customer who provided the feedback initially. We would prefer to prevent all feedback to appear like it came from the company, or the perception of this. Also, when an idea is being moved to our dev teams, we create a project and list the customer/account who initially submitted the request. This is hard when the idea isn't listed as coming from…

    In the new Contributor Console, I'd like to have the system search and return a list of users when typing in whose idea is this just like other tools SO THAT I don't have to find their exact email address.

  4. Ideas created by contributors should be included in "My Activity"

    Ideas that are created by contributors on behalf of other customers should appear in the "My Activity" of the contributor's console. It's a confusing experience for our internal users when they need to find and add feedback to existing ideas they themselves created.

    From the "My Activity" feed of the Contributor console, a contributing team member can see all feedback they've captured, ideas they've created, as well as any votes they may have submitted for existing ideas.

    When capturing feedback via the Contributor Console, only three ideas are displayed, even if many more ideas are a good match for the terms. Display more ideas.

    Hey there! Thanks for the feedback. Our team has made this adjustment so users will now see up to 20 suggested ideas when entering feedback in the Contributor Console.

  6. Remove Customer Contributor Consoles from Google Search Results

    If you search "Uservoice Contributor Console" in Google (I was trying to find documentation on the console) - there are dozens, if not hundreds of search results that show the signin pages of all of UserVoices customers.

    I'm assuming that Uservoice didn't mean to publish their customer list this way in Google, and having it show up in search results can really muddy the water when you have use cases like mine where I'm a customer trying to find details on the new Contributor Console.

    Thanks for bringing this to our attention Aaron. It certainly wasn’t our intention for this endpoint to be crawled. We’ve updated the list of items not to be indexed and the results should fall out of Google’s index over whatever mysterious schedule they have :)

  7. Provide UV User Search in Contributor Sidebar

    I'd like the ability to look up a user by their name and account they are associated with instead of only being able to submit based on an email address.

    Good news: you can already do this.

    When you invoke the contributor sidebar, click the hamburger menu in the upper left of the sidebar. The top margin turns into a search box for users and accounts.

  8. Public idea link when capturing feedback via the contributor sidebar

    When capturing feedback via the contributor sidebar, we link feedback to an existing suggestion, or create a new suggestion.

    I would like to have a shortcut to copy the public permalink to the linked suggestion so that I can easily share this with the customer, rather than clicking through the admin console to get the web portal link.

    Hey there,

    As your customer facing teams’ new home for feedback, we’re excited to get your thoughts on how the new Contributor Console helps with this need.

    While this feature is not yet a part of Contributor Sidebar experience, we did keep this need in mind for the Contributor Console.

  9. Create a full-page view for the Contributor Sidebar

    Is there a way to use uservoice without using the sidebar browser plug in? I find it hard to search and track submissions and I prefer a web page layout.

  11. Discarding edits in admin console without asking for confirmation

    When I edit a suggestion in the admin console, and click somewhere else, the edit pane collapses without asking whether I want to save my changes. I lost all my changes.

    Hi everyone,

    This should be fixed. Clicking outside the edit window, should not close it out. You either have to click the X button, Cancel or Save to close the dialogue. If this gives you anymore issues, please contact support@uservoice.com.

    Earlier this month we launched a monthly Contributor Insights email. Similar to the Admin Insights email, the Contributor Insights email notifies contributors of recent status updates and their activity. If they haven’t been active, the email will prompt them to add feedback.

  15. Return helpful error when idea created via sidebar has too long of a title

    There is a character restriction on idea titles. When you create an idea with too long of a title in the sidebar, we return an error, but it isn't clear why: https://cl.ly/43280f0B231b

    This error should say something about the character limit.

  16. Email request submitter when an idea's status changes

    A customer-facing employee has used the sidebar to capture a request for a customer. That employee would like to know when that idea's status changes. Then the employee can reach out to the customer to give them an update. Also, it let's the employee know that the feedback they submit is being heard and responded to. Perhaps send a daily summary email that would sum up status changes to all the ideas that the employee has recorded requests for - including the before and after status, forum, category, suggestion name and a link, the list of customers that they personally…

    This is live! Now we’ll keep you in the loop when the product team responds to customer feedback you enter, so you can follow up with your customers and prospects.

    How does it work?
    1) You enter a customer’s feedback and connect it to an idea in UserVoice. (You might do this through the Contributor Sidebar or Zendesk app, or in the admin console with ‘capture feedback’, ‘add supporter’, or ‘link this ticket to an idea’)
    2) A UserVoice admin posts a status update for the idea.
    3) Now you will get an email with the status update and message plus the customer feedback that you captured for the idea, so you can follow up with those customers and prospects as you see fit.
