General Feedback
How can we make the UserVoice platform better?
-
Make forum URLs simpler
Current forum URLs are really ugly, meaning it's very difficult for me to say "please leave us feedback at [URL]" because I can't remember the URL. Would be nice if the URLs were more like "subdomain.uservoice.com/iphone" or "subdomain.uservoice.com/forums/iphone".

We’re still looking into this. Quick question: if we had yourdomain.uservoice.com/feedback redirect to your default forum, would that be acceptable? Is this as big an issue for forums other than your default?

Sort comments oldest first within an idea
On the end-user site, add an option to allow reading through the comments from top to bottom, oldest first.

Allow simple formatting / markup for content (italics, etc.)
Currently there's no way to even mark a word as bold or italic. Well, I guess you could make it ALL-CAPS (lame) or put something *around* it, but somehow both of those just seem somehow kludgey... I hate gratuitous colors and font-size changes as much as the next guy, but SOME formatting actually helps communicate better. How about adding support for at least some very simple markup like Markdown or Textile...?

Allow a landing page that is not a specific forum
When you have multiple forums for a company, forcing one to the default makes things political :-).
I'd like an option to provide the default uservoice landing page to be a set of content with a listing of the available forums for that user with their associated images next to them.
I don't like the forcing of a default forum.

I think this is an excellent idea, and your examples are definitely pertinent. I’ve made the title a little more descriptive, so we’ll see if some more votes float in for this!

make Uservoice multilangual
In Belgium we have 3 languages (Dutch, French and German). Our mainwebsite has those languages foreseen.
I would be great that in the widget code you could go to the right language on Uservoice.for exemple:
- customer is French on the French part of the website, hits the helpdesk button and gets Uservoice in French.
- customer is Dutch on the Dutch part of the website, hits the helpdesk button and gets Uservoice in Dutch.
-...Or another good solution.
Now I had to put English as main language, so all of our international customers are getting uservoice in… more

Hi Steven -
Could you elaborate on what content would be multilingual? Do you mean just the interface/navigation, or do you also mean translating actual user-generated feedback/helpdesk content as well?

Karma score explanation
Have an explanation bubble appear when a user hovers over their karma score to show how it is calculated. Or have a link on them so a user can go figure that out.

Link "Contact Us" to a separate page (not the widget)
Seeing as UserVoice HelpDesk is not a contact us form, but a Help Desk -- It would make logic sense to make the Contact Us form A) Re namable, so people who actually use it as a help desk can advertise it as a help desk and B) Allow the option for it to be in an individual page, so we can direct people to the exact place to create a ticket.
12 votesThank you for your feedback. We’re currently working on two things that might address this request:
1) ability to embed the widget inline in your page
2) a how-to guide for creating your own contact-us form and having it send tickets to your UserVoice helpdesk. -
Allow customization of text on portal site/forums
Not everyone wants to use words like "Contact Us", "Knowledgebase", or "Feedback" on their UserVoice site - allow customizations of at leas the major titles and buttons on user-facing portal pages.

Make the 'Feedback' section that contains categories and verbiage customizable
It would be nice to be able to customize how everything else is being displayed. Like making the word feedback smaller, shortening the line that says “Help us improve by sharing ideas and voting for the best ones.”

render attachments
Allow image attachments to be rendered inline with the user's comments (not just displayed as a link to a new page). This is a piggyback to the more import enhancement - "Allow users to add attachments" http://feedback.uservoice.com/forums/1-uservoice-feedback/suggestions/1284-allow-users-to-add-attachments

Have an 'All Ideas' tab
The problem with *not* having an 'All Ideas' tab is that for forums with not much use, it seems that the forum is not being used *at all* at first glance, because there are no ideas listed (either in the popup box or on the page
itself).
It would be good to be able to list *all* ideas (whether completed or not). This would also give users more confidence that ideas are being submitted by other users and completed.Another suggestion - change the 'Closed' tab back to being called 'Completed' as this gives users more information and gives them… more

highlight idea author's comments
i like the way admin and your own comments are highlighted when viewing an idea's full details page.
i think it would improve idea refinement a great deal if this same kind of highlighting was applied to comments made by an idea's author. an author could then add to/clarify the idea and have that extra info made more visible to admins and critics. i think usability would also improve because there doesn't seem to be a way to edit ideas after they're submitted.

Suggestion page should display entire suggestion (i.e. without "more" link)
If I've elected to load a page dedicated to a suggestion, I likely want to read the whole thing. Very often I have to click the "more" link -- and most of the time just to reveal the final four words of the suggestion.

Provide way to "Give feedback" on main help page.
On your main help page (e.g. help.uservoice.com), there's no way to give feedback - you'd have to click on one of the forums first. Click on Contact Us only lets you "Contact support". This is inconsistent with what the user sees when he click on the feedback tab.
This is all very confusing to the user. He can easily give feedback from the tab that's all over the site but when he goes to the main help page suddenly he can't?
I think you guys need to fix this. One easy way is to put the tab (if enabled) on… more

Configurable Social Network Buttons
Currently, Twitter and Facebook are the only buttons displayed. We have no way to disable them (aside from hiding them using CSS rules, which doesn't actually stop the button from loading thus useless javascript and css and reporting back to various social networks).
It'd be great if we could choose which buttons we wanted to display using simple checkboxes. In addition, Google+ should be added.

tell users how to suggest ideas somewhere on full service homepages
On getting to our full service homepage users aren't clear on how to suggest ideas. They don't realise they have to actually go into a specific forum to be able to add ideas to it. Maybe you could have a 'Suggest an idea' link or something just below the big search field...

Agreed! We’re currently testing some design changes.

Add ability to collapse / expand all Feedback forum entries
It would be great if users of the feedback forums could collapse comments so that they can only see the votes and titles - a collapse all / expand all button on the side would be great plus the ability to collapse / expand individual items.

Make it possible to comment directly from the forum page
If I want to see or leave a comment, I have to click into the idea. It would be more user-friendly to be able to comment or view comments Facebook-style from the portal page and load them with javascript at least.

let me to close twitter and facebook api in pannel
Because we can't open facebook and twitter in china, so our users can't use facebook and twitter API. Their uservoice page can't load completely and they can't add comment.

Website templates
Add robust template system for feedback sites - including professionally designed templates users can choose from and advanced custom templates for pro-level users.
