How can we make the UserVoice platform better?

More granular settings for admins / moderators / agents
Really need the ability to restrict an Admin to a specific forum(s).

Export users associated with votes/ideas
Yes, you can now export at the user level as well as the idea level and forum level... but what we need is a way to get an export of the ideas/votes along with WHO voted for them or created the idea.
So I want to either be able to see the folks who created the idea and voted on it when I export the ideas, or when I export the users, be able to see what they suggested or voted on.
Right now there is NO WAY that I can see to associate these (other than going into each… more

Allow for a read only user with no voting power
We have set a limit of 2 users per customer to ensure fair voting, however, we have customers requesting that a read only user be created so they can see what ideas are on the system then ask their key contact who is registered to vote to vote on the idea - controlling their voting limits internally. Is there any plans to allow settings against a user to be changed to allow 'read-only' user with no voting rights?

Merge Users
After implementing SSO we ended up with many duplicate users. This was partially our fault (we didn't define the user id properly when moving over) but even if we had the original pre-SSO user and SSO would still be duplicates.

Edit users at the site level
We manage single sign-on from within our App, and these users browse all forums, so the concept of "user per forum" is not relevent. Just some feedback :)

Improve and increase an administrator's ability to search and edit user information.
Coming from a Community Management background, I am accustomed to having a variety of administrator tools on forums that aren't offered in UserVoice. Among these tools are more robust search features, and a consolidated user information page with the ability to edit user information.
At the present, I cannot search by individual forum and must scroll through multiple pages across four different lists (Voters, Given Access, Invited and Removed) to find users. The results of using the "Search ideas and feedback" feature under Feedback are missing this basic information.
Once a user has been found, I have no way to… more

Hi, thanks for the feedback!
Because user profiles are global to all UserVoice accounts (not just your account), we cannot currently allow account admins to change user information such as name, email, password because it would change that information on any other UserVoice site they leave feedback on.
However, we are currently refactoring how our users system works, which may allow for this type of admin functionality in the future.

Show which private forums the user has access to
There's no easy way to see which private forums a user has access to. Right now, the admin has to go to each forum and see if the user has access to it.

Show votes remaining with user information
When I click on the name of a User, it takes me to a page that shows their ideas and comments. At the top it gives their basic information (e-mail address, member since, last active, etc). In that section it would be nice to see the status of their votes (used and remaining). Thanks!

Create custom fields for users, supported with SSO for tracking user accounts
The SSO feature allows us to easily send our customers from our site to UserVoice. This is great. But when we are reading the site and responding to requests, we need to lookup information about the customer's account so we understand the context of the question. In this case, it would be very helpful if we could simply send the customer's account number as a custom field that appears on their profile. This would allow us to see the account number and get to their account in our system.

Add rapportive like details to support ticket
It would be great if you could include a gravatar with the persons email to make the support ticket more human, it would also be great to add other rapportive like details as well.

Global Export/Report by Forum and User Status
I like the global export feature for users.
What would be even more useful is if I could run a global report that allows me to export the list of all users broken out by forum and by status - Voters, Given Access, Invited, and Removed.

allow existing user recategorization/rules
I had a group of existing users in a forum, then added another forum. All the existing users are only authorized for the first forum. I'd like to be able to 1.) easily permit some or all of the user group access to the new one, or 2.) have a rule that says "give all users access to all forums unless I say otherwise at forum setup.

Improve User Search Capabilities
I need better search capabilities when searching for users. It appears I can only search by their name or the beginning of their e-mail address. I need to be able to find matches for any part of the name. I need to be able to find matches for domain name (example: trekbikes.com)

Owners should not be paid agents to allow billing to have a direct account
I would like to be able to setup a billing clerk as an owner so she gets the receipts. But owners count as agents and I would have to pay for her even though she only pays the bills. The current limit of making all owners also agents should be changed. Thank you.

add existing users to private groups
I'd like to add a user to a private feedback channel that exists in a public or other private channel but there doesn't seem to be any way to add users other than by entering their email addresses manually.

Managing users in private forums is difficult.
If you want a large list of customer to have access to several private forums you have to export the list of users from one forum and import it into the next. When you then come to add a new user, you have to add it to each forum. If users could be put in groups and groups assigned access to a forum it would be much simpler.
