How can we make the UserVoice platform better?

Choose whether "Contact Us" or "Share an Idea" is highlighted by default
Right now users are filling in contact us when they mean to share the idea with the community. I had one user today first fill in contact us and then share the idea. I think the default should be share an idea, as the whole point of uservoice is the community aspect.

allow the javascript to define a client language
The JavaScript code injected as "feedback" tries to determine the browser language and with that output's the information in a special language. On a multilingual site this causes confusion as the client might have changed the site language to a specific different one.
You may add an attribute to allow the setting of a specific language in order to allow the site to be presented in a consistent language.

Allow embedding of contact form on a webpage
Rather than pop up a widget, some folks would like to be able to embed the UserVoice contact form directly into their webpage.

Correction and apologies: the previous status update referred to setting your contact form so that messages are sent to your UserVoice helpdesk. We’re still working on allowing you to easily embed the widget.

Allow us to switch the order of Tabs in the Widget
I would like the "Give Feedback" tab on the LEFT, and the "Contact Support" tab on the RIGHT in the widget.
We should at least have a choice.

restrict articles in widget to categories
When I embed the "contact us" widget into a specific service's page, it'd be nice to limit the auto-searched "matches" to that service category. Can you implement a way to restrict the results in the contact us widget to a category or a subset of categories?

Make Ideas in Widget Sort According to Settings
From what I can tell, I can control how my ideas are sorted and displayed to customers within the settings. This works great, but the widget on the website doesn't sort by the same order it appears to sort by most votes. These should be linked together.

Widget showing the some of the ideas directly on my website
Right now the uservoice feedback widget opens in a new exclusive window after pressing the feedback button. But It would be nice to have a widget e.g. for my contact page which displays some of the existing ideas to make users curious, directly on the page.

make the standard text customisable
I'd like to change the default texts such as:

Choose Which Forum in Feedback Widget
Right now, when the user gives feedback from the feedback widget, it goes to the "default" forum selected by the admin. The concept of a default forum is meaningless in many cases - e.g. I have a few major products, each with its own forum. The admin should have the option of letting the user pick a forum he is giving feedback to. This is arguably more important than being able to select categories within a forum, which is a downstream option. make the body of the widget search knowledge base articles like the subject line does.
Many of our clients do not place keywords in the subject line but will in their description of their problem. Right now, only the subject line searches through knowledge base articles so our clients are not finding the instant answers we have provided for them through articles.

Multiple forums in the widget
It would be really helpful to be able to select a different forum and it reflect with the existing ideas on the left side (maybe another drop down menu like the category).

Provide a referral page for user who posts a feedback
It's important to see where does the visitor come from when he leaves a feedback, especially when comments are not well articulated. Also, it's important to see which pages make user to leave either positive or negative feedback.

Have different Custom Fields On Different Widgets
You have given us the ability to add "Custom" fields to our widgets which are great but the only problem is, once you create a custom field it displays on all widgets.
I have created several different widgets to use on different areas of my site and I was hoping I could have had a different custom field for each widget e.g.
I have a "Report" button which I only want a "Custom Field" drop down to only show "Report" related stuff.
On another page, I only want to have a "Custom Field" with just "Advertising" related drop down.

Right now, the only way to close the popup is clicking on the X button.

support textile formatting in feedback widget
would it be possible to support textile formatting in feedback widget? cuz now the notification email and editorial fields of idea updates have both supported textile formatting, it would be great if widget could do, too.

Add more widget placement options.
I would like my feedback widget Top-Center, but can only place it left or right on the top. More placement options would be nice.
