SVG attachments can contain executable javascript, which is a security risk. As a result, we are not able to allow this type of attachment on ideas or comments.

You can automatically rename them to 'filename.svg.txt' to avoid the security risks, don’t you? So everyone who needs to get them still will rename the file, and others won't be able to execute anything directly in the browser.
