  1. Add custom questions for users to fill out when creating an idea

    When a user goes to create an idea, they only have to give a title. Often Product Teams want to ask their users for additional details and be able to make these fields required.

    This allows Product Managers to get the full details they need from users when they post an idea, and limits them needing to follow up for more information.

    Hi – we have spent time investigating this and talking with many of you, and have decided to defer from building this for the time being. In our conversations with customers, we came across many different use-cases for custom fields and think we could potentially provide better, native support for some of the common use-cases like “priority” or “impact” rather than attempting to solve several problems with this one feature. We may revisit this idea after providing out-of-box support for the most common use cases.

  2. Slack integration--search for and link ideas in Slack threads

    Currently you can only search for an idea using the Slack integration in the main message field of a channel. We REALLY need to be able to use the /uservoice-search command within a thread on an existing message so that when an internal team member asks a question related to an existing UV idea, we can easily link them to the existing idea in the thread of that original message.

    Hey all,

    Unfortunately, we won’t be able to provide this feature.

    Looking into this a bit more and collaborating with the team at Slack we learned that Slash commands in threads is not functionality they support.

    We’ll have to hold tight until Slack supports this before we can make this available for the UserVoice to Slack Integration.

    Sorry I don’t have better news here.

  4. Contributor entered Feedback should count as a vote

    When I enter a user's feedback using the sidebar and link it to an existing suggestion I want it to count as a Vote for the suggestion linked to otherwise the feedback manager reviewing support for a suggestion is unlikely to spot that these users also have an interest in it (as the feedback is hidden away in the list of activity for the suggestion rather than the count of supporting users.

    This is currently how this feature works; when feedback is provided by a contributor on behalf of a user, that user is counted as a voter for the idea. If this is not how it is working for you, please let us know and we can investigate it.

  5. Mapping Documentation for feedback from other systems like GetSat, ProductBoard, and Aha!

    Importing from other applications is pretty standard for UserVoice but it would be helpful if we could have a visual or some sort of documentation that explains how feedback is mapped from different systems.

  6. Suggestion link in merge dialogue should open in the Admin Console

    When clicking a Suggestion link, in the Suggestion merge dialogue, the link takes you out to the web portal.

    As I'm in the Admin Console, this interrupts my workflow. I would expect the Suggestion to open in the Admin Console also as this is where I'm working.

  7. Be able to set MRR for users (not just accounts)

    Be able to pass MRR for users, so you can create segments based on User MRR and User Type.

    Thanks for the feedback on this idea! We do not have plans to expand support for revenue on the user level and are continuing to improve the usefulness of revenue data on the account level in UserVoice.

  8. Allow emailing the person who entered the suggestion

    There is no way to email a user to get more information about their idea unless they have Voted for the suggestion.
    Users often enter feedback but fail to Vote for their own suggestion (I guess they assume the fact they entered the suggestion means the support it.
    I need to be able to email the person who entered the feedback to get more clarity on what they are asking for but I cannot do that from within the admin console.

    Hello, thanks for your feedback. When viewing a user in the admin console, you can view their supported ideas and sort the Last Supported column to view the ideas they most recently voted on. Their detail page also features a chronological view of their activity. Each idea they voted/commented on displays the Forum and Category as well.

  10. Add an Idea ID or identifier to the idea properties

    With no identifier on the suggestions or ID listed in the properties, there is no quick way to track ideas or send one to a coworker for easy search other than the URL.

    Hello – We include “ID” as a property on an idea. This can be found in the “Properties” section on an idea’s detail sheet (screenshot attached). Admins can search for this ID from the Ideas page to locate the idea.

    .zip attachments can contain any file type, and since most browsers immediately download and open .zip files this is a security concern. For this reason, we are not able to allow .zip attachments.

  12. The Ability of Voting Down on an Idea

    We would like to have the ability to "vote down" against a suggestion. This functionality will help us understanding if the number of people that doesn't want that particular feature is bigger or smaller than the number of people that want a particular feature.

    Downvoting is a feature that has been requested over the history of UserVoice. We believe that upvoting keeps the public conversation positive. Furthermore, voting is only one important metric in assessing the end user’s value of an idea.

    We have found that strong, positive signal on a UserVoice idea will be one trigger that a product team will use to investigate the Idea further. Downvotes should not dissuade a product team from taking action if it is the correct strategic move for a product.

    I know that this answer won’t satisfy everyone, but we have thought about it extensively, debated it internally at length over the years, and have arrived at this conclusion.

    As a user, I would like to integrate UserVoice within our Xamarin Mobile Apps. It would be great to have Xamarin Forms for Android and iOS we could use.

    Our Product Team has discussed this and opted not to add Mobile SDKs.

    We want to focus on making it easy to use our API’s to build your own mobile integration within UserVoice. This gives you more control over the look, feel and flow for your users.

  14. Do not close/archive suggestions here

    I've noticed that some of the suggestions I've posted here are archived. IMHO, they are still relevant. IMHO, archiving suggestions does not make any sense - this would just result in duplicates created by others in a while.

    Thus, please stop archiving/hiding/closing old suggestions and restore those that are archived.

    You are right. Silently archiving suggestion is not a good customer experience.

    While we will need to decline ideas that don’t align with our Product Team’s vision, we need to communicate that to our customers.

    We are declining this idea because we will have to close out suggestions, but we are going to work to communicate much more openly around this going forward.

  15. Ability to search for products/services for which to provide feedback on main uservoice.com page.

    I really like uservoice. Sometimes, I'd like to provide feedback to a developer, but they don't make their uservoice page very obvious. I'd like to be able to go to uservoice.com and search for developers and products to easily find their uservoice page.

    Thank you so much for sharing your idea, and we are excited to hear about your involvement on multiple UserVoice feedback forums.

    However, how companies want to promote their forums, and direct their users to that channel can be unique to each business. So this isn’t an idea we will be implementing.

    Hello! We offer a few different tools to help accomplish this. When viewing an idea, you can view the Insights & Activity section to view its activity over time. You can also filter the idea grid to show ideas with the most votes over the last 30 days, or select a custom date range. When applied, the Voters column will update to show the number of votes received during that time period. We also launched our new Idea Insights page where you can view top trending ideas for the last 30 days.

  17. Allow Drag and Drop of images to UserVoice suggestion attachment panel

    Add drag-n-drop support for image/attachments to the UserVoice widget.

    Currently drag and dropping an image into the "Post an Idea" attachment area results in the browser or application loading the image. The panel should interpret dropped content as attachments to prevent applications relying on this panel experience to be in unusable states.

  18. Add Feedback-specific donation

    This is about a feature suggestion (i strongly recommend).

    UserVoice is a really good thing, as it allows direct consumer-to-developer-feedback and also gives a crowd based rating of the importance. But it cannot fully stress the importance of a single problem (because the only curency are the voices, which are limited to make them valueable; but if someone contributes to many topics he has to give less voices e.g.; or you are limited with one voice for one suggestions and so on). It would be nice, if…

  19. The UI for managing the public status needs a Usability tweak.

    Love the new ability to set/manage an internal status. However, there's room for improvement for the iconography with the public status, see attachment.

    The status icon is using a globe (for public) not the grey dot for under review status.

    It also remains 'open' after posting a status which makes it seem like it doesn't have a status assigned. It might be better to auto-close it after setting the status.

    A core value of UserVoice is communication, allowing Product Managers not only to hear from users, but communicate back to them around their feedback.

    We also help Product Managers when evaluating ideas, not only see how many people want it, but who those people are, enabling them to make data driven decisions.

    Anonymous suggestions don’t allow either of those, and aren’t part of our vision for the product at this time.

    While we are saying “no” to this particular idea, please keep sharing. We do appreciate you sharing your thoughts and product needs with us!
