Automatic triggered notifications and status updates
Automatic notification when ideas hit certain thresholds in terms of vote count, average votes, etc.
Hi! Thanks for your interest in this idea. We are currently in the process of looking into this and would love more feedback on the following:
- For setting default idea statuses - would the default status be across all forums or forum specific? Would you also want to set a default message to subscribed users?
- For idea thresholds - How would you want to be notified a threshold has been reached on an idea? Which criteria is most important? (votes, comments, importance scores?)
- Additionally, how would this differ from setting a saved view with advanced filters with vote/comment thresholds?
-
I would like to see an automatic update to a idea/suggestion when it reaches an indicated vote threshold with standard language. For example, if an idea reaches 20 votes, then it will be automatically updated to an indicated public status with specific standard language that we would preset.

I like this idea. I've previously raised or voted for feature requests against a product (not using UserVoice), and still get emails for those issues long after I ceased to care about them.
If a user has a finite number of votes, an expired vote on a feature would return that vote to them; UV could also send out emails telling users their vote is about to expire, with links to renew the vote, etc...

The amount of ideas and users that we have using UserVoice is very large, to the point that it becomes unmanageable and would require significant time to respond or close every idea.
Our products that we elicit feedback for rapidly change and feedback can quickly become irrelevant. Due to both of the mentioned, it would be amazing to be able to set some kind of 'expiration' for an idea - such as an idea requires at least 30 votes over the course of 6 months or it will be closed and set to a status of the admin's choosing. This would make UserVoice much more maintainable and relevant to current products.
Ideally, the vote, time, and response/status information would be completely configurable by the user and also independent per forum. So i may have only one of our high-volume forums using this method while the others do not necessarily need it (or use different thresholds).
