Sidebar Linking Ideas Should Add User's Idea as Comments on the linked Idea
When using the Sidebar, we're asked to get the client's idea in the Private section which is visible to Admins on the Uservoice portal and then link to an existing idea if it's close enough. This is a fantastic model to avoid duplicate postings and to ensure we have an accurate number of supporters for any given idea. However, my client's idea may be slightly different or have a different outlook than the currently posted Idea I'm linking to.
Current functionality will allow me to add private comments on behalf of a user to an existing idea and subscribe that user to the existing idea, however that doesn't tell my client that their voice was heard, moreso that I chose this idea to replace theirs.
I think that any idea coming from any client being posted via the sidebar should be added as a comment to the existing/linked idea so that our clients can see their voice is being heard/added to the existing idea. This will also give Product a more thorough overview of what our clients are asking for.
Hi Everyone,
We have reviewed this idea, and it’s not something we plan to implement. Even though we are deferring this idea for now, it is still open to votes and comments. We do want to hear your opinion. Thank you for the feedback, and please, keep sharing!

As a product manager I sometimes receive use cases that apply to an idea already created on our feedback page. I would like to be able to add those use cases as comments to existing ideas to create a collaborative environment for my customers and keep all of the feedback for a particular idea in one place.

Totally agree with this suggestion.
We can't loose the detail of the feedback that one user has just because someone else suggested the idea first.
We need to see all the points of view.
Additionally, this gives users faith that their comments are shown to all other users.
