Allow admins to add attachments to responses, status updates and comments
Currently, attachments can only be added to ideas, not to admin responses or comments.
Greetings from UserVoice,
When sending internal status updates, public status updates, or posting comments from the admin console, you now have the ability to include attachments.
Checkout the .gif file attached to this status update.
Let us know what you think.
Thanks for the feedback!

I've found that while I can 'attach' files to the status update, upon submit they are not displayed internally or externally.
This can be really important in explaining how new functionality works prior to the update of formal documentation.
Thanks!

Hi there, this is indeed a crucial feature which every single new forum administrator asks for.
I do not see any status attached to this idea neither response from the UV team ; even though it has reached a fair amount of votes already.
The workaround to add another attachment by editing the suggestion works indeed but is not practical as it requires 2 steps instead of 1. -

This would be extremely useful for us as we regularly ask users for this kind of information when reporting bugs and not having the functionality is slowing down our ability to act on feedback

Please add this feature.

Many a times it is better to explain through a screen shot than a long text essay. Please consider.

We frequently ask our users to provide us with more information via screenshots, test files, screencasts, etc. Being able to attach these with comments is immensely valuable to us.

Allow the admin to attach screenshots or files.

A picture is worth a thousand words. I've worked in SW test for (grumble, mumble) years and an animated .gif is the _easiest, most effective_ way to illustrate a UI issue.
I tried to add an image to a comment in uservoice for Microsoft Teams here:
https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/17996596-fix-copy-paste#comments but was unable to, and trying to explain the "how" of "copy and paste in the middle of a message is difficult" is way harder than just showing someone. -

This would be very useful when marking an idea as Closed - Completed. I'd like to send a screenshot or mini video of the new functionality for the voters to see/discuss/provide feedback.

For feedback and ideas related to UEX, it is very helpful to be able to share screen shots with clients and have the clients share them back to us.

I am the one who posted an original message.
As I noted, there were some posts, which confirmet this expectation.
But I would like to extend this expectation.
In some comments is written that it should be possible to add a link to a file.
But this is not too effient solution, because in case you have to add several (or more files) then it is difficult to reffer to the right file. Besides it is time consuming proces to make screenshot then memorize it as file (with giving file name) and later adding the right file (where also mistakes can be done).
Much better solution would be giving user possiblility to write the post in HTML format. In this case user could add screenshots or other pictures inside message (directly after making screenshot). In this case he could comment each message right way and could see if the right file was "attached".
There are free softwares available on the market which gives possibility to add to the WEB Page ability to edit post in HTML format. -

Add me to the list. I can't even add a meme to this comment.
Seriously though, this is a big one for our team and the ability for our community to comment to each other's ideas with a screenshots or relevant uploads would help our users help each other.

This feature would be incredibly beneficial.

I continue to be SO stuck without this feature. If nothing else, you should allow an administrator to get behind the scenes and add more attachments to the original suggestion. This is a mess!!!

Same here, we need to respond to people's comments with screenshots, this is really important for us, and was already implemented in getsatisfaction (our last crm)-

From what I can see, the Admins can post screen shots on other people's ideas.

Additionally, when an Admin marks an item as Completed -- or maybe the idea is already in the product -- it's very handy to include a screenshot to point the suggester in the correct direction.
It's so rare that we get to complete great ideas that we need the ability to toot our own horn a bit!

This is very important for other contributors who are building off an original idea, but have a slightly different use case. A screenshot or example report can make all the difference in the world!
