  2. Be able to include custom text and links in the Contributor sidebar

    When using the sidebar, some customers want to be able to include specific instructions for their contributors or links to external resources.

  3. Add custom fields for contributors to fill out when capturing feedback from users

    Allow admins to add custom fields to the Contributor Sidebar, so they can capture additional information on requests captured by their internal teams.

    Hi – we have spent time investigating this and talking with many of you, and have decided to defer from building this for the time being. In our conversations with customers, we came across many different use-cases for custom fields and think we could potentially provide better, native support for some of the common use-cases like “priority” or “impact” rather than attempting to solve several problems with this one feature. We may revisit this idea after providing out-of-box support for the most common use cases.

  4. Show top contributors over time

    See who the top 10 or 20 contributors have been over a time range (month, quarter, year, etc.) so once can give some positive reinforcement

  6. New suggestions by contributors go through moderator approval

    I would like to require that new suggestions created by contributors get approved by a moderator before they are public.

  9. Capture feedback from customer without an email address

    We would like to capture feedback from people who don't have an email address and either use an alternative identifier (ex. twitter handle, name) or leave it as anonymous.

    For now, this is not functionality we will be implementing.

    There are two primary reasons for this:

    • When someone provides feedback, it’s in the best interest of the company to whom they provided it to follow up, either with status information or to ask for further detail about the problem to be solved or implementation specifics. Without knowing who to contact, product teams are left making assumptions about intent and solution, and often this can lead to a misfire.
    • Perhaps more importantly, without knowing who provided the feedback, product teams are left without context – is the feedback coming from a current customer? A prospect? What role do they fill and what are the jobs they’re trying to complete?

    I do want to acknowledge that there is some value in feedback no matter whether it’s got attribution or not, so this is a decision we may re-visit in the future.…

  10. Indicate how many requests teams and team members are capturing

    This would help monitor and drive adoption in an organization.

  11. The data in the admin portal's user sidebar (inspector) doesn't match what the contributor sidebar shows for that user

    If I view a user profile in the sidebar, their activity summary data is different from the activity summary data that I see in the admin console user inspector. They should match or be clear that they are showing different data. For example, in admin inspector/profile the lightbulb icon shows the number of suggestions that the user created, but in the contributor sidebar the lightbulb shows number of suggestions the users has supported. Also, in the admin user inspector there is a heart showing the number of votes the user has used, which is similar to the number of suggestion…

    Hi everyone!

    We appreciate your thoughts on this! We’ve moved away from the Inspector Sidebar being a key part of the product as we’ve introduced more features on our Users and Account Pages.

    As a result, we won’t be implementing this idea.

    Have ideas for ways we can make our User and Account pages even more valuable? Please, tell us!

  12. When setting a status, allow an editable subject field

    Want to be able to edit the subject of status updates, to more effectively communicate with our users.

  14. Weekly email with sidebar request stats

    As an admin or contributor, I'd like to get a weekly email with a summary of this week's requests to help me drive adoption of the sidebar internally and to make sure I am on top of the feedback coming in through our internal teams.
    - total requests this week per team and per person
    - top suggestions for the week per team, with # requests per suggestion, and customer names
    - any new suggestions created by a contributor

  16. Show owner of feedback as who shared this on the public site

    When a contributor or any admin enters feedback for a user/customer, the idea displays on the public side as if the idea is owned by that contributor. We need for the idea to show as being owned/entered by the customer who provided the feedback initially. We would prefer to prevent all feedback to appear like it came from the company, or the perception of this. Also, when an idea is being moved to our dev teams, we create a project and list the customer/account who initially submitted the request. This is hard when the idea isn't listed as coming from…

  18. Have Sidebar bookmark name include domain

    When adding the contributor sidebar bookmark, have the domain name in the bookmark name so it can be distinguished if there are users in multiple domains

  19. Sidebar push parent page content over

    When capturing feedback on a page, the Sidebar at times covers up relevant content. would be ideal if it pushed the parent page content over, or wrapped to the sidebar.

  20. Sidebar: Refresh the users found on the page

    When I navigate to a new page while having the sidebar open, I want the sidebar to refresh the users it has found on the page. Currently, I have to close the sidebar for it to search the page again.
