Keep log of status updates after merging suggestions
When I merge suggestion A into suggestion B, the comments from suggestion A are copied into suggestion B - but any status updates from suggestion A are not.
Sometimes there's useful stuff in the old status update, such as troubleshooting steps to see if the symptoms match a known issue or not. So it's nice to be able to access those old status messages to copy-paste from them, for example.
(The idea https://feedback.uservoice.com/forums/1-general-feedback/suggestions/4012056-canned-responses-for-suggestion-status-updates would help with this a bit, but only if you planned ahead and already knew you wanted to reuse the exact text of the status message).
After reviewing this idea, we’ve decided it’s not something we plan to implement at this time. Even though we are deferring this idea for now, it is still open to votes and comments. We do want to hear your opinion. Thank you for the feedback, and please, keep sharing!

There IS a way to still get to the old status messages btw, but it's not obvious or very efficient. Some views in the admin console - such as the Activity logs - still have links to the original issue A as a separate page. Even though the public URL for issue A just redirects to issue B now, the *admin* URL for issue A still gets you the original page with all the status updates intact (though it looks like any image attachments from users are missing). You'll see a note at the top of the admin view linking to the suggestion it has been merged into, but afaik that original page will continue to be accessible indefinitely.
