In the Admin Console, hide “closed” ideas by default
It would be very useful to view only ideas that are "not closed" (all ideas that have been responded to as well as those which have not been responded to in one search). The current view is difficult to navigate due to the number of items that have been shipped or declined being mixed with other ideas.

@Eric perhaps I don’t understand, but the beta feedback report does allow you to list just open ideas.

I'm also surprised that you can't list only open issues, would even have expected that to be the default. Meanwhile there's half a dozen other filtering options, none of which I ever use...
Of course, seeing how many open issues UserVoice itself has, I can understand that they'd rather filter on "not replied" than "open" :-)

Really strange that this filter doesn't exist. Quite a critical one to see Open Issues. Really common in any issue tracking system.
The solution is quite simple: Add a selection to the "Closed" filter which says "Not Closed".

+1 Seems like a small change, and would make this much more usable.

Our UserVoice feedback system is becoming difficult to work with because of the lack of this feature. We want to filter out all completed but keep all the active ides in a ranked list. Can't believe this has not yet been implemented.

Even though the User Feedback beta report released is probably useful for advanced scenarions, for the original feature discussed here a I really hope that it will be possible to filter ideas by open soon as well as in the original question.

This would be something we would have great use for as well, mainly to get an overview of all "upcoming" items.

I think this is a great idea.

I'll describe our use case to help inform this suggestion.
Every week, our team gets together and goes through our UV requests. Each of us handles requests around our specific products. Most of the time, we are marking requests as "pending" with some status information, sometimes also asking questions in the comments. If a feature is coming out soon, we mark it "imminent". When going through all of the requests, we frequently have to scroll past those entries that are already "completed" (in our case, either "shipped" or "declined") -- ideally I could filter these out since they're already resolved.
The next week, what I would like to do first is look at everything that I personally handled the previous week to determine if they need an update. This means being able to filter by "entries that I modified". It would also be nice to filter by "added in the last X days/weeks" and "modified in the last X days/weeks". This would allow me to make sure I address any new requests or comments.
Without the above features, it is a very time consuming process to page through pages and pages of requests, many of which are resolved and I no longer care about, to find the entries that I need to update.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to email me directly.

Hear you loud and clear Josh. Thanks for that clarification. Let's go ahead and see how much response we see from this idea. In the meantime (and I know this isn't ideal for you) you can export all ideas to Excel in the Admin Console and then sort our deleted ideas if you need this information ASAP.

Hi Carter. That is exactly what I'm looking to see. We have a number of items that are "in progress" with custom status (under review, backlog, planned, imminent) and we want to be able to see them in addition to items that haven't been responded to. Basically, we want to filter out the shipped and declined status items, as we will no longer act on them.

Hi Josh,
Have you tried filtering by "Responded" and "No Response"?
