Allow users to subscribe to forum updates
A customer has a group of folks that visit his site and give feedback. However, they only get feedback when they are notified there is a new idea to give feedback on (more of a collaboration tool really).
Allowing users to subscribe to specific forums where new ideas are posted would greatly help in this case.

We have many many clients asking for a way to get a monthly email (or an email every x weeks, etc) that shows them collective activity on the ideas they support. They are already subscribed to receive updates specifically on ideas and status changes, etc, but they want a regular communication where they can see activity on their ideas at a glance. This might mean one forum, or it might mean 5 forums. Ideally they would have a preference where they could choose to see updates send every x days, weeks, months... kinda like recurring outlook options... Then they would be able to choose which forums, and what activity they want to see. This will help all end-users of User Voice!!!!

Our users are ready to give up using our portal because they can't subscribe to individual categories and be notified of everything that happens to that specific Category within the forum. This is not the same as subscribing to a forum.

Subscribing to a forum or category would be useful so customers can get updates. We are considering using a UserVoice forum for bugs and this would be helpful.

They would like an option for Forum Settings where all users within a private forum are subscribed to all ideas as they come in for email notifications with the option to add support, comments, etc. If it's a topic they are not interested in, to then unsubscribe from just that topic.

We use UV to post service notices to our clients but we have no way to let them know once we post a new service notice. We could really use the ability to let them subscribe to any and all updates.

This would be huge for folks who want to follow a forum and be updated with either a daily digest or when new items are added. Allowing them to reply to ideas and keep the momentum moving.
