I think that is the right choice to defer this project. This may be a nice feature in the future, but I would prefer to see more small enhancements and smaller additions and polishing to existing features.

This actually already works. You can use domain.uservoice.com/suggestions/id
Also, even if you have the wrong forum listed in the URL, UserVoice is smart enough to figure it out and redirect to the correct page based on the idea ID.

Subscribing to a forum or category would be useful so customers can get updates. We are considering using a UserVoice forum for bugs and this would be helpful.

I would like more granular permissions, including the ability to allow users to Add Voters, enter private comments, maybe even edit titles, and various other things, but I would not necessarily want them to be able to change status. It seems odd that Limited accounts as of today can create new ideas, but not add voters to existing ideas.

Hi Everyone,
We have reviewed this idea, and it’s not something we plan to implement. Even though we are deferring this idea for now, it is still open to votes and comments. We do want to hear your opinion. Thank you for the feedback, and please, keep sharing!

I disagree with the decision to defer this. I think the functionality of adding a display name should exist in any place a new contact can be added. It seems to work fine in the portal, and the admin site, except for the contributor sidebar. The fact that it's difficult to correct this data afterwards is also another factor.

Hello,
This is currently how this feature works; when feedback is provided by a contributor on behalf of a user, that user is counted as a voter for the idea. If this is not how it is working for you, please let us know and we can investigate it.

I am pretty sure when submitting via the contributor sidebar, and associating it to a user, it always includes them on the Users tab. Perhaps this was already fixed?

Could you provide some more context on this idea? I’m not sure what you mean by “one place”. Isn’t that one place the portal?

This would be useful, but there are bigger fish to fry. I’m adding to my comment here. It’s actually annoying not being able to hard delete.

I happened to notice that when you evaluated this in 2020, there was 39 voters. Now there are 381. It might be worth re-evaluating this request.
