Sortable search results
If you search in a forum in the admin console, you can't sort the results. The system will display them in the order of relevance.
However, if you are searching and pulling up a long list of ideas, you need to be able to sort those results by supporters, or created at so you can find the relevant ideas you're looking for.
Greetings from UserVoice,
Now, when working with the suggestions grid in the admin console, admins have ability to sort search results by any of the sortable columns. Check it out!
Be sure to let us know what you think.
Thanks for the feedback!

This idea was for the admin console. For the regular user web interface / web searching of ideas, please upvote: https://feedback.uservoice.com/forums/1-general-feedback/suggestions/5935787-allow-users-to-search-and-sort-filter-ideas-on-the

I don’t see any improvement on the search functionalities. I search for “well” and I get 1196 results. I search for “well data” and I get 1612 results. I search for “well data spreadsheet” and I get 1668 results. The search bar is almost unusable.
I do not have an admin console.

Only just realised this is for the admin console. I up voted as I wanted sorting for the user search results. Once you filter you are unable to sort results

I'm extracting uservoice data to run reports, a lot of which are simple priority sort, so to be able to sort / filter search results would go a long way.

UserVoice really suffers from numerous people logging identical or similar suggestions as new entries, rather than upvoting an existing one. My searches often return hundreds of existing suggestions so it would be really useful to be able to order them in various ways. If I could order my search results I'd be more likely to upvote an existing suggestions, rather than creating a new one. Options for sorting might be:
- number of votes
- status (e.g. working on it; planned; declined; ...)
- date raised
- date last voted
- ...
Adding filters would also greatly enhance the experience. -

When in the admin console, as opposed to only allow a search or sort, allow a search of users/accounts and then the ability to sort by a column

Allow search results to be sorted by vote count. Sometime we might need to see how many people voted for a feature that has a specific word in the description and after we get the search results back, we want to see within those results which features had the most votes.

Seems like a no-brainer to me. Unless you like wasting time reading through noise in order to find the most relevant items.

Often new ideas are just duplicates of very popular ideas, and often popular ideas use very common terms. If we could sort merge search results by vote count, it would save a lot of time (note: this is a bit of a workaround since search does not support common search operators).

Yes, the lack of sorting has been one of my complaints with uservoice. I would like to be able to sort search results by number of votes. I'm often searching for ideas by key words or phrases to try to find all ideas that are related to a certain topic. The first thing I always want to do is sort the results by number of votes to see which related ideas have the most support from our users.
