Allow users to subscribe to suggestions
I would like to be able to "star" certain suggestions that I want to remember (if I have no more votes but want to keep tabs on interesting suggestions).

As this can't be voted on because it's marked 'completed', consider voting for https://feedback.uservoice.com/forums/1-general-feedback/suggestions/4936680-subscribe-to-comments-on-specific-ideas "Subscribe to comments on specific ideas" (from 2013..), which is open for voting.

I do not see in which way this is supposed to be completed.
And: Watching needs to include 'get notifications of new replies by email', for any thread I want. At the moment this isn't event possible for threads I commented on, only for threads I voted for.

Is there a way to subscribe to an idea for updates without adding a vote to it? As an admin I'd like to be able to do this -- for example if I've asked the user for clarifications, I'd like to get an email when they post a reply comment, but I don't necessarily want to upvote the issue myself.

Is this still considered in "Beta"? I note that when I create a new forum in my admin account login it defaults to this "new way" and the "10 vote way" can be turned on but it is considered deprecated. If this "New way" is the way to go can you change the status of this suggestion to something other than Beta?

Hopefully "voting" will always still be an options, for us it's very useful and the key reason we moved to UV. But I can appreciate the need for a "Subscribe" feature, but we accomplished this using a CSS/JS work around that replaces the "Vote" button with "Subscribe" or "Follow".
This also allows us to have this setting on a per forum basis, which is really important since we have two distinct forums - wishlists (votes) and general discussion (follow)

Ouch... The voting feature was the origin of Uservoice as I recall it. That must have been a tough discussion...
I really like it though! -

i think removing 'the complexity of limited votes' is a great idea, always been a headache. Certainly anything that simplifies the UI and makes it less daunting for users to participate is good. Presumably users can click 'i want this' and/or 'add comment' straight away whether they have previously logged on or not. If not logged in already, they're prompted for a name and email addr after the fact with the usual 'sign in' option and 'that email address exists already.. sign in?

This feature would be great. Without this I don't believe we would be able to use Uservoice for our purposes.

Any idea on when this is coming to the Web? It's been over 7 months since the last update. Seems like that would be the first place to add it.

*******, is there any specific release date of this idea for web portals? Thanks!

Yep, there’s a similar idea we’re working on for admins to be able to manually add and subscribe users to existing ideas (this idea is for end-users being able to simply subscribe themselves to any idea) – http://feedback.uservoice.com/forums/1-general-feedback/suggestions/3679803.

I second the comment by Tim H. Our call center is super focused on a positive experience for the client -- sometimes it would be easier for our team and a better experience for our client if we could just tag their email onto an existing idea.

It would be great if in the admin area I could add another user as subscribed. What happens is a customer will email us requesting a feature but they do not know about our uservoice page or do not want to take the time to start using it. By me having the ability to add them as a subscriber in the admin area means that when I finally do get around to completing the feature, they will be notified.

great that it's started at last. we urgently need more customer and admin friendly stuff to increase participation in our ideas-feedback forum. Our users keep resorting to ringing us up or writing war and peace in 'contact us' tickets ;-)

Yes please - what is the delivery timeframe?

As I take the time to look through the hundreds of ideas on a user voice site I find some that I want to vote for but I have used up all my votes. I would like to add the idea to a "My Favorites" or "Watch List".

Yes, please add this enhancement, we have users who prefer to have ideas "pushed" to them rather than them taking the time everyday to come to the forum and see if anything is new. This is our biggest complaint. Please add this!

Another way we'd like to do this is to have a field (or a feature) in the bulk upload process to associate them with the idea as a subscriber.

We'd like the ability to associate some individuals with an idea when we create it on their behalf. For example, we may have a group discussion with our customers and come away with several ideas. We'd like the ability to make them subscribers to keep updated on the progress of their ideas that we added on their behalf. Also, there are several times we've had requests to keep track of certain ideas as "watchers" or "subscribers" without having to apply more votes (or take them off of other ideas).
