  1. Edit customer requests in the sidebar

    I want to be able to edit captured feedback from a user in the sidebar.

    Often users come back with more details, and I want to add that quickly from this sidebar, vs. having to open the idea in the forum and edit it.

  3. Show top contributors over time

    See who the top 10 or 20 contributors have been over a time range (month, quarter, year, etc.) so once can give some positive reinforcement

    The Contributor Sidebar has a page where you can see the top requested ideas from each internal team. It would be great if contributors could filter that list down by forum and category.

  6. Make it clear required fields were not filled out in Contributor Sidebar

    Ideally, the Save button on the contributor sidebar should be greyed-out when an idea has not been selected.

    A few of our contributors got tripped up by this, they typed in the feedback, clicked the save button and got confused because nothing happened. They didn't realize that their feedback hadn't been submitted because they hadn't selected an idea.

  9. Choose default and required settings for sidebar

    Allow users to chose their own default settings for sidebar. Some people want customers automatically subscribed and some want to require specific fields.

    Hi – we have spent time investigating this and talking with many of you, and have decided to defer from building this for the time being. In our conversations with customers, we came across many different use-cases for custom fields and think we could potentially provide better, native support for some of the common use-cases like “priority” or “impact” rather than attempting to solve several problems with this one feature. We may revisit this idea after providing out-of-box support for the most common use cases.

  14. Contributor Sidebar Support with Outlook Desktop

    We would like to be able to use the contributor sidebar within the Outlook Desktop app. However, the contributor sidebar is not completely compatible with Outlook Desktop; When we try to use the Contributor Sidebar with the Outlook browser based experience, the Contributor Sidebar pane does not open within the Outlook browser window, instead the contributor sidebar pops out in a new, different window.

    Hi there 👋  We are implementing support for SCIM. This protocol will allow you to manage UserVoice access via other user management systems like Okta and ease your team's onboarding and off-boarding processes. Thanks for the feedback, we're excited for this one and hope you are too!

  17. Capture feedback from customer without an email address

    We would like to capture feedback from people who don't have an email address and either use an alternative identifier (ex. twitter handle, name) or leave it as anonymous.

    For now, this is not functionality we will be implementing.

    There are two primary reasons for this:

    • When someone provides feedback, it’s in the best interest of the company to whom they provided it to follow up, either with status information or to ask for further detail about the problem to be solved or implementation specifics. Without knowing who to contact, product teams are left making assumptions about intent and solution, and often this can lead to a misfire.
    • Perhaps more importantly, without knowing who provided the feedback, product teams are left without context – is the feedback coming from a current customer? A prospect? What role do they fill and what are the jobs they’re trying to complete?

    I do want to acknowledge that there is some value in feedback no matter whether it’s got attribution or not, so this is a decision we may re-visit in the future.…

  19. The data in the admin portal's user sidebar (inspector) doesn't match what the contributor sidebar shows for that user

    If I view a user profile in the sidebar, their activity summary data is different from the activity summary data that I see in the admin console user inspector. They should match or be clear that they are showing different data. For example, in admin inspector/profile the lightbulb icon shows the number of suggestions that the user created, but in the contributor sidebar the lightbulb shows number of suggestions the users has supported. Also, in the admin user inspector there is a heart showing the number of votes the user has used, which is similar to the number of suggestion…

    Hi everyone!

    We appreciate your thoughts on this! We’ve moved away from the Inspector Sidebar being a key part of the product as we’ve introduced more features on our Users and Account Pages.

    As a result, we won’t be implementing this idea.
