Sidebar Linking Ideas Should Add User's Idea as Comments on the linked Idea When using the Sidebar, we're asked to get the client's idea in the Private section which is visible to Admins on the Uservoice portal and then link to an existing idea if it's close enough. This is a fantastic model to avoid duplicate postings and to ensure we have an accurate number of supporters for any given idea. However, my client's idea may be slightly different or have a different outlook than the currently posted Idea I'm linking to.

Show link after an Idea created by and admin user or move to edit screen after create. When an admin user creates a new idea, after saving the idea the form closes and we have no quick way to get back to the new idea to add tags, internal comments or set internal status. Please either show a confirmation dialog that the idea has been created - with a URL to the new idea, OR update the users screen to be the edit page of the new idea.

Date field on Public Statuses so users know when an idea will be completed It will be useful to have a date field on public status updates stating when an idea will be completed. For example, if I apply a status "Started," I would be prompted to enter a date when the idea is expected to be completed.
This provides a concrete date to the user and the user knows exactly when to expect the feature release.

Roadmap search for contributor facing roadmap view as a end user, I want to search the roadmap (rather than only option being navigating the kanban or filtering by product area. as a end user I want to search (so it searches feature title and description)

Allow accounts to require email confirmation/password for public forums UserVoice's default sign in on public forums does not require users confirm their email address or create a password to post ideas, vote or comment. Customers would like the option to make these a requirement.

A few weeks back we updated the experience for our email authentication option.
While passwords are no longer needed for authentication, this update does require email confirmation to authenticate into UserVoice. This is achieved by requiring users to click a link in their emails to authenticate into the application.

When a user attaches a .AI Illustrator file, UV often refuses to attach one, and then displays it as a .PDF file type instead In illustrator.uservoice.com sharing a .ai file is a common thing. But there a problems with uploading and downloading these.
In comments it works fine, but on a report/request creation it often fails and then lies about the file type. Is this a UV-only bug, or a general behaviour? What can be done about this?5 votesHello!
.AI files are now supported as attachments anywhere we allow you to include attachments in UserVoice.

See the number of requests on a suggestion In the Feedback grid, you can see the number of comments or supporters on a suggestion.
It would be useful for some use cases to also see the number of requests on a suggestion (could include multiple requests from the same user email address).

Include relevant details from a location when a user reports a map issue! Filter by last updated user activity in the idea grid It would be great to be able to filter by user 'last updated' or new activity (ie. idea, vote, comments, rating) in the idea grid rather than having to click into filters - similar to how other columns can!

Filter should have 'and' logic as default To reduce the number ideas filtered by search, the keywords should be applied with 'and' logic by default.
At the moment, the number of findings increases if you add more key words.
But to make UserVoice a success, it's important to reduce the number of findings to come out with max 10-20 search results to allow the user to find already existing ones for voting instead of entering a new one.
If the search result exceeds 20+, it would be to time consuming for checking all the results and as result, UserVoice would end-up with redundant requests (idea)…14 votesHey there!

While we don't support 'and' logic to filter keyword search results by default, we do provide search operators that can be used to further refine the results of your keyword searches. Take a look at this resource to learn more.

User Sentiment Breakdown Enable a centralized summary view that clearly shows who supports, opposes, or is neutral on an idea, along with their reasoning captured in private feedback or comments.

markdown in comments Would love to see Markdown extended to comment threads. I understand that it's already supported in the main description, but any followup comments (maybe even another user suggesting a different snippet of code) doesn't get the same formatting as a description.

Be able to add multiple users at once When capturing a request in the sidebar, be able to add multiple requests and users at once. After a call or onsite, often internal teams have multiple people and requests they need to connect to an idea.
Having to do this one by one is time consuming, and makes it harder for those internal teams to capture the data for product.

View history of status emails and notifications sent to users Currently there is no ability to see a history of the emails/notifications that have been sent from UserVoice. If I am needing to go back and see if a certain user received an update email, I have no way of doing that from within the UI.

Customizable list of words to ignore to improve search results I've been usability testing a test version of our UserVoice forums before they go live. Our users frequently use the product name as they are describing an issue (e.g., "Please do [some change] to [product]"). Because the idea filtering is based on an OR list of words, as soon as users type "[product]" 2 things happen:
The website speed crawls to a standstill, making it hard for them to continue typing and increasing their frustration.
A huge list of ideas appear that are no longer of any help whatsoever to them when looking for similar ideas.
