  1. Contributors Post Ideas Anonymously

    When capturing a new idea through the Contributor sidebar, we would like the idea to be from an anonymous user, not a post from an internal team member. We don't want it to look like our employees are complaining about the product.

    A core value of UserVoice is communication, allowing Product Managers not only to hear from users, but communicate back to them around their feedback.

    We also help Product Managers when evaluating ideas, not only see how many people want it, but who those people are, enabling them to make data driven decisions.

    Anonymous suggestions don’t allow either of those, and aren’t part of our vision for the product at this time.

    While we are saying “no” to this particular idea, please keep sharing. We do appreciate you sharing your thoughts and product needs with us!

  3. Allow admins to edit user information

    Coming from a Community Management background, I am accustomed to having a variety of administrator tools on forums that aren't offered in UserVoice. Among these tools are more robust search features, and a consolidated user information page with the ability to edit user information.

    At the present, I cannot search by individual forum and must scroll through multiple pages across four different lists (Voters, Given Access, Invited and Removed) to find users. The results of using the "Search ideas and feedback" feature under Feedback are missing this basic information.

  4. Filter feedback by user segments

    Allow filtering suggestions and related suggestion metrics (like # of supporters and comments) by supporter traits, to help find out which feedback has come from specific user segments and measure interest from those segments.

    You can now analyze feedback by customer segment and identify each segment’s top needs, all within the UserVoice admin console.

    Create custom segments based on the user and account traits that you pass into UserVoice; for example, user type, MRR, company size, or industry. You can also create segments by country, even if you are not passing traits into UserVoice.

  5. Support custom user and account traits with the Identify feature

    You can pass the standard user and account traits, but sometimes you need to pass custom traits.

    For example, your users have two different ID's, and you want both passed as traits.

    Sometimes admins need to manually enter user and account traits. It would be great if they had the option to create user and account traits directly in UserVoice.

  7. In System Admin view, allow users to filter or search by voter or submitter user account

    We are often trying to locate a full list of all the items that a user has voted or submitted. The view in the user management console is very cumbersome, so we would like to be able to filter in the idea management view by user.

    Hi Everyone!

    I wanted to follow up with everyone regarding this idea. Thank you so much for the feedback!

    We have made multiple updates to the user’s page when it comes to viewing a user’s profile and quickly seeing their activity and a list of the ideas they support.

  8. Be able to merge user accounts

    If an account has multiple email domains but each one is still apart of the parent company, I would like to be able to merge all relevant domains so that revenue numbers, suggestions, users, etc. are consolidated automatically.

  9. Show which private forums the user has access to

    There's no easy way to see which private forums a user has access to. Right now, the admin has to go to each forum and see if the user has access to it, and update/revoke a user's permission to the forum.

  11. Capture feedback from customer without an email address

    We would like to capture feedback from people who don't have an email address and either use an alternative identifier (ex. twitter handle, name) or leave it as anonymous.

    For now, this is not functionality we will be implementing.

    There are two primary reasons for this:

    • When someone provides feedback, it’s in the best interest of the company to whom they provided it to follow up, either with status information or to ask for further detail about the problem to be solved or implementation specifics. Without knowing who to contact, product teams are left making assumptions about intent and solution, and often this can lead to a misfire.
    • Perhaps more importantly, without knowing who provided the feedback, product teams are left without context – is the feedback coming from a current customer? A prospect? What role do they fill and what are the jobs they’re trying to complete?

    I do want to acknowledge that there is some value in feedback no matter whether it’s got attribution or not, so this is a decision we may re-visit in the future.…

  12. Option to force display of username in feedback for SSO<>ADFS authenticated users

    We're using SSO with ADFS for an internal, corporate Forum. Currently, any ideas/feedback submitted is flagged as being submitted by 'anonymous', unless the user has opted to input a username. Ideally, I'd like the option to have a forum display a username/email address for ideas/comments in all cases. I understand why this may not be relevant for external forums but for internal, corporate forums, I see this as essential.

    UserVoice has several new export options to help you better analyze feedback and users.

    - You can now export a list of users almost anywhere in UserVoice – the main users list, users supporting a suggestion, or in an account. The export includes all the information that we have about the user, including their custom fields, accounts, and location.

    - For custom analysis of trends and user segments, try the new ‘enhanced analysis’ option for suggestion exports. This export includes the selected suggestions along with all their supporting users, accounts, location, and traits. Use the export in any tool like Excel, PowerBI, or Tableau to slice, dice, and graph.     Hi everyone!

    We’ve released this feature! How it works is:

    External accounts will be automatically generated and populate the Accounts grid in UserVoice as external users emails are added to UserVoice.

    Since these accounts are generated based on user email domains, each account’s name will match the email domain that generated it minus the “@” symbol.

    External ID of the account will always be the full domain including the @ symbol. For example, External ID: @acme.com.

    Per account, the number of users will be updated as feedback is received by users from that email domain.

    If you don’t see this option, contact support@uservoice.com, and we will help you get it turned on for your account.

  16. Be able to pass user/account traits via the API

    Right now, you have to use the javascript code to pass user/account traits. It would be great if there was a way to also do this via the API. This would give admins more options for passing this data.

    Hi – we have spent time investigating this and talking with many of you, and have decided to defer from building this for the time being. In our conversations with customers, we came across many different use-cases for custom fields and think we could potentially provide better, native support for some of the common use-cases like “priority” or “impact” rather than attempting to solve several problems with this one feature. We may revisit this idea after providing out-of-box support for the most common use cases.

  19. Allow users to add attachments to comments

    One user creates an idea and adds an attachment, with a relevant image or document. Admin would like other users to be able to add their own images/files in response to the original idea. Right now there's no way to do that with comments.

  20. Add custom User & Accounts fields to the NPS export

    You can pass in custom fields for user and accounts, but when exporting NPS ratings, only standard User and Account fields are included. It would be ideal for the custom user and account fields to also be included.
